Day 49: How to locate Mr. or Ms. Right?

An excellent Meetup last Saturday where we once again had to bring in stacks of extra chairs – the energy in the room was electric – great reviews. I got talking to a new client and Social Media newbie – Peter Janzen @specialtybulb.

What? – Peter is an expert in his field – they supply – you guessed it specialty bulbs for the entertainment, healthcare and scientific industries. Peter who has been following our challenge has now just created all the stuff we love – Linked In, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Google Local. Good for Peter! Now what to do?

Why? – The reason we decided to feature Peter – he’s an excellent example of an Dangerous Marketer – his company based in Langley BC has been in business for over 25 years and his team is second to none in knowledge and customer service – they go “the mile beyond the extra mile”#Neil Godin. One of their employees of 17 years tenure is retiring early, to work for a non-profit foundation. And they need to replace him. We discussed at length how best to source a suitable replacement and then the MD light bulb came on – Social Media! Why don’t we try and flex our SM networks and help Peter find the gem of an employee and make it a win/win for all concerned.

How?
– the team are mustering up to help. Trilby the Twizzard @tjbuffoonery is going to consult with Peter to help him market his company and job position through Twitter. I (@jdgem) am going to help him feature the position via Facebook. Melissa @indivine is looking into the creation of a YouTube video to feature the business and explore how we could best use video to promote the position and Neil @neilgodin is going to help use Linked In to spread the word.

Tipzntrix – whadya think? A pretty cool test of our Marketing Dangerously Social Media Challenge don’t you think? We all know people who need to find the right employer/employee and help them flourish into the workplace professionals they desire to be.
