We’ve been talking about traffic-stopping signs and landmarks (like the world’s biggest hockey stick) lately. Today, we turn our attention to whatcha got on your vehicle. And (thanks to MD regular Bill Grant) we’ve got a great example – not just of traffic-stopping signage, but of genuinely dangerous marketing. Here’s the photo Bill sent us. (Let us know if you think it does the job – or really has to go).
>The Key Point:
Isn’t that amazing? And gutsy? And funny? And effective? And, in keeping with our Social Media Challenge, isn’t it interesting that when I Googled the company (in Halifax/Dartmouth, Nova Scotia), I found their Facebook page (at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=57234916804 ) instead of the usual website. Interesting. Now, while we’re on the topic of vehicle signage, I also want to share a collection of photos I received this morning from another MD regular, Dennis Thomasson, of Fresh Air Experience Sporting Goods in Ottawa and Thunder Bay. If these examples don’t inspire us to do ‘something’ with our vehicles, nothing will. Enjoy!
(Ps – The message on the truck that has two front ends reads, “Are you going the wrong way? ” And, are you able to read the word “Pringles” on that ‘burnt out’ truck? What a way to promote their ‘hot and spicy’ chips!)
