About Neil Godin and NGI

The main focus of all Neil's work is human development - emphasizing the skills of self-management, self responsibility and personal leadership (leading via initiative and role modeling even when we don’t play a formal leadership role); effective interpersonal relations, creative thinking and conflict resolution.

A native of Vancouver, Canada, Neil is a former business journalist. He is president of Neil Godin International Inc., and former president of SOI (Structure Of Intellect) Systems Canada Inc., specialists in intelligence testing and training, with clients in education and industry. Neil is a Certified Advanced Trainer in SOI, and also holds a Certificate in Conflict Resolution from the Justice Institute of BC Center for Conflict Resolution.

Neil is past president of the Aspire Integrative Remedial Education Society, former secretary of The Society for the Advancement of Excellence in Education, and Chair of The Aspire Project, a campaign aimed at opening a state of the art 'Learning Gym' for children who are struggling in school. Neil is author of a number of professional guides and manuals, including 'The Step By Step Planning and Management System;' 'Break-away Marketing;' 'Communicating Economic Development,' a handbook for economic development professionals; 'Building Bridges,' a handbook for facilitators working with employees in transition, and 'Beyond The Blackboard Jungle - A framework for reforming public education.' He is a popular television, radio and newspaper commentator on education and the future of work, and is currently writing a book on these topics.

As a trainer, Neil is responsible for a number of well known innovations, including programs such as 'Relationship Banking,' originally developed for the Royal Bank, and now adopted by financial institutions around the world. In addition to working with large and healthy organizations, Neil also works with companies in crisis, where breaking the barriers to peak personal performance, teamwork, and creative action, are the only hope for survival - and many of the practical ideas, techniques and strategies in his programs are drawn from the real-world of these turn-around projects. Seminar and training participants say they appreciate this emphasis on realism, as well as Neil's warm, entertaining and energetic style, and the fact that so much of his material applies to their personal lives as well as their lives at work. More than 300,000 people from coast to coast in Canada and the US have participated in Neil's programs. We welcome your inquiries.
